Civil Society Speakers in Tunis 

21 November. There was a few last minute changes to the list that was published earlier. The final list of speakers from civil society can be downloaded here.

9 November. A list of CS speakers has been published.

17 October. Background information on recommended speakers from civil society was transmitted to the ITU together with a letter from Human Rights Caucus dated 12 October 2005 that recommends Ms. Shirin Ebadi to speak at the opening ceremony and a list of endorsing entities to Ms. Ebadi’s recommendation (as of 16 October 2005).

12 October. The ITU responded with an initial list of nominations for the Opening Session, the High Level Panel and the Round Tables. The selection of speakers for the Plenary sessions is pending the information on the recommended speakers’ background that Rik Panginiban (chair of the Selection Committee) is compiling.

 

10 October. A final list of recommended speakers from Civil Society was transmitted to the ITU.

 

29 September. A list of nominations compiled by the CSB Secretariat was presented to the CS Plenary. It was decided to set up a selection committee composed of representatives from each of the regional caucuses, a member of the Civil Society Bureau and a representative from the Content and Themes Group. The selection committee met in the evening of 29th September and agreed on a list of recommended speakers based on the nominations received from CS families, caucuses and working groups.

 

25 September. Guidelines for nomination of speakers was developed by the CSB and sent out to the Plenary mailing list. Deadline for nominations was 28 September.

 

Reports from multi-stakeholder events

18 October. List of requests has been forwarded to the WSIS ES.

4 October. Requests for reporting on multi-stakeholder events could be sent to wsis@ngocongo.org before 14 October 2005. The CSB secretariat would then compile a list of requests to be directly forwarded to the WSIS ES for their consideration, as the WSIS ES / ITU will make the selection.
